The Crusade Continues...

WIP Update with Backstory
I have just completed the main colors of my Marshal. Still some highlighting and minor cleanup work to be done. But he is tabletop ready at last :)

Also included is a bit of fluff about my current Marshal.

Enjoy!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marshal Amantus de Sable

Amantus de Sable is the fifth to hold the title of Marshal of the Mandasar Crusade. He, like his predecessors before him, have led the crusade against Hive Fleet Mandasar on the Eastern Fringe of the Imperium.

De Sable is however new to the mantle of Marshal, having just been elected a scant few months before. The previous Marshal of the crusade Dumalin Basque had fallen during the last major engagement with the Tyranids on the agri-world of Mandasar Prime.

De Sable also inherited the tools of his current office, the ancient twin swords that the Marshals of this crusade had once wielded in the name of the Emperor.

The history of the swords have been lost in antiquity, save for the tale that the swords had been crafted by a smith of great skill and valor. The swords Durendal and Sauvagine are whispered by the Crusade's Initiates to be as potent as their names on the field of battle.

Durendal is said to mean 'The Inflexible'.

And Sauvagine meaning 'The Relentless', both reflecting the attributes of a Black Templar.

The new Marshal has every intention to fulfill the duties of his new office: The inflexible and relentless pursuit of the enemies of Him on Earth.

Already de Sable and his Templars have culled the ambitions of an Ork Warlord and stemmed the invasion of another Imperial world by the forces of Chaos and Traitor Guardsmen.

With the Mandasar Crusade at its end, Marshal de Sable orders the flagship of his crusade, the Baptism of Wrath to head towards the Segmentum Tempestus. The Emperor's Champion Esymond has had a vision from Him on Earth.

A new path for the Crusade emerges....

Men of the Crusade (WIP)

Some Initiates.

The Neophytes. Faces and base color of shoulder pads all done up. They are lookin' all rowdy and ready to go into the fray.

I wish everyone great beginnings for this new month ;)

  1. I'm liking the highlights you done on the power swds. Some close-up or brighter lights on the Initiates would be nice. Their black armour make the details harder to see.

  2. You got to be kidding!

    Your highlights, your freehand...

Is there a way I can leech your skills? Haha =)

  3. Thanks guys!

@crazyrat: Sure man, i post another pic of a close up. The lighting here is a bit off, i must catch the sun haha!

@Krom: I practice of a piece of paper first, also using a brush to get used to the contours. The folds in the cloak made it a bit difficult to be accurate though ;)
