The guys will be having an upcoming Apocalypse game soon. And I'm taking the opportunity to finally get those Grey Knights done. Or at least make them less grey. But first, I had to get them assembled. Almost all were still in box with the plastic wrap on. I'm going in with a quick n simple painting process.
Mostly assembled with some primed black.
About 2 Grey Knights Strike Squads getting the prime treatment. Soon they will battle the daemons!
It was kinda fitting that my first test model was a kit bashed Techmarine, as the army is still under construction. It took less than 20 minutes to fully paint the colors on cos he's a Character. I decided to stick to the metallic grey, reds and blues, till I get some gold paints.
I was apprehensive with using a spray paint direct as the main color, but this one worked really well! Its the Silver spray paint from Anchor Spray Paint. Affordable and gives really good smooth coverage.
I just washed the model with Badab Black (2 coats).
He looks shiny still, but not too shiny. I prefer the Grek Knights steel armor which is not too 'clean' and bright, but with some darkness to provide some depth.
But it is still shiny in a way when light reflects off the armor. You can still see the shadows defining the depth and recesses of the armor.
So I proceeded to spray the lot Silver! The fifteen knights above were well coated in less than 10 minutes. They are pure silver without any washes yet.
And this time I used an actual Grey Knight model. I washed it with Nuln Oil, just one coat. And I really like the result.I'll paint the eye lenses blue and maybe the storm bolter casing red. That may be all the time I have for hobbying till the battle. At least it will look painted (to a certain extent).
And on that note, I wish everyone a great weekend ahead :)
